FAQs

  • HOW DO I BEGIN?
First things first, lets make sure I understand all that your business entails, and if I can provide the service you're looking for. You will start by reserving a day and time that works best for you by booking your FREE 30 min. phone consultation. During our phone consultation, I will be getting to know you and filling out a questionnaire as we talk, with as much detail as possible about your business, brand and goals for your website. If we decide that I am the perfect designer for you, I will send you a proposal detailing what I will provide to you and the cost. Once you have signed the proposal and paid your first invoice (50% of the project price) I can get to work on designing your dream website!
  • IS MY INITIAL DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?
No. All deposits are non-refundable as it is my way of securing your spot in the queue. I book projects several months ahead of time, and scheduling ensures that I give all of my clients the proper amount of time that a project deserves. As a result, I turn away clients for your reserved time slot. If you back out of the project, you may leave an empty spot that could have been given to another project. The deposits ensure that clients are serious about moving forward with the project.
  • WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BEGIN?
Assuming you have already completed our 'consultation call', paid your 50% deposit, and signed your proposal agreement. What is required to begin is having all of your content for your website together. That includes; photos, written content, videos, typography styles, logo designs, branding colors or palettes, HEX # color codes and so forth. Most importantly to begin please make sure you have the time to put into gathering your content and working with me. We try to make this process as smooth as possible. We recommend that prior to applying you ensure that you can dedicate this time to your project to prevent any delays or additional fees. We have a no refund policy for non-responsiveness : REFUND POLICY
  • WHAT IS CONTENT SNARE?
Content Snare helps us web designers get content from our clients. We understand that if you’re running a business, you're going to be super busy, just like us. Most agencies turn to google docs, shared drives and email. This process almost always turns into chaos, with missing files, images of the wrong size and badly formatted content. The result is often frustration, delays and missed deadlines. Web Designing is the type of job wherein both the vendor and client must be involved while a project is in the works. That being said, constant and concise communication is critical, when having to upload photos, emails, and written content within a certain time frame. Content Snare sends out reminders, sms text, electronic checklists, let's the client ask questions and much more. We have one universal way of communicating with one another. Content Snare is web-based, there’s no need to download the application or any tool. Just visit the website and sign in with the sign-in instructions you are given by your designer.
  • ARE PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE?
Unfortunately, we do not offer payment plans at this time. As an alternative payment option we have partnered with AFFIRM & AFTERPAY, a smarter way to pay over time. You can click here to learn more about their approval process. Please ask us for more information or select this payment method at your purchase checkout. If you are not eligible for our pay over time merchants, and you are happy with my proposal and want to go ahead with my services, you will be required to pay 50% up front before I start the project, and then 50% prior to the delivery of the final files when the project is completed. *for the 'website in a week' package the entire payment is due upfront. There are NO split payments for this package. *for the 'website audit' package the entire payment is due upfront before I begin the audit.
  • CAN MY PROJECT BE RESTARTED ONCE IT HAS BEEN ARCHIVED?
In order for the client to restart and/or resume a project, they will have to pay a restart fee. The restart fee is 25% of the projects total. The web designer will not resume the project until the fee is paid in full. The restart fee is only applicable within 6 months of the original purchase date of the package. If a client is wanting to resume a project after 6 months, they will have to repurchase the package at full price. We do not issue refunds.
  • HOW INVOLVED WILL I BE IN THE PROCESS?
I am designing a website for you and your business so it is totally collaborative. Before the project starts I’ll send you onboarding information by email and you will also be sent log in information to sign into content snare (an easy, stress free way we gather content from our clients). From there you will find out what I need from you, and how to upload and provide the information. We will have a call together to discuss all the finer details of what you want your website to look like and how we will get there. The website will be designed with your logo, branding, images and text so it is totally personalized to your business. Throughout the project I will keep you up to date on progress every Friday; which will be our 'approval' day until the completion of your project. From there will be agreed opportunities for feedback at the end of each week (Friday's) before launch.
  • HOW LONG IS THE PROCESS?
Before the project begins we will discuss your requirements in detail and agree on an ideal launch date. Once I have received a deposit from you, I can get to work. If I have all the content (text, images, details) I require from you on the dates set out in the proposal, it will take on average 4-6 weeks from start to launch (business calendar days only). We recommend that prior to applying you ensure that you can dedicate this time to your project to prevent any delays or additional fees.
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T MEET THE PROJECT DEADLINE?
If for any reason your project is not completed within the 30 days (4-6 weeks business calendar days) due to the clients non-responsiveness via all communication forms, the project will be archived. So not meeting phase deadlines can push your project past your 6 week deadline, which can lead to your project being archived and extra fees added on to restart it.
  • WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?
    - Purchase of domain - Advanced SEO - Hosting fees - Copywriting (We do offer copywriting as an add on service with a fee, please let us know if you need copywriting so that we can discuss details the with you) - Photoshoot
  • DO I NEED A LANDING PAGE OR A WEBSITE?
For starters, a landing page is a webpage that is standalone and doesn’t have a navigation bar. A landing page is designed to convert leads into sales, it’s best to not distract clients away from the landing page through a navigation bar. Landing pages without a navigation bar help users focus their attention on buying a product or inputting their contact information for a business. Landing pages are great to use if: You have a new product or service launching. You don’t have a full website yet. You’re paying for ads and want users to visit your landing page to buy your product. You have services in multiple locations. In this case, designing various geo-targeted landing pages will be your best option. Websites are good to use for business owners that: Offer various services and products. Have various pages ready to publish on the internet. Want to integrate different blogs, apps, or other websites. Want to establish trust. Want to showcase their business’s mission and invite customers to research their business.
  • WHY SHOULD I OUTSOURCE MY WEB DESIGN INSTEAD OF DOING IT MYSELF?
There can be a certain appeal to doing it yourself, but designing a website can be a time consuming and costly project if it isn’t in your area of expertise. The time you might spend learning design tools, building your website and troubleshooting errors could wind up costing you more in lost business revenue, than the cost of someone doing it for you. A website is one of the most important tools for your business, but if building that website distracts you from running and growing your business, you should seriously consider outsourcing your web design.
  • WHAT PLATFORM WILL MY WEBSITE BE BUILT ON?
As of now we are currently building our website on WIX. Wix is completely code free. Which means anything you could ever dream up for your website is possible and your website can evolve over time as you need it to. You can easily update your website yourself without needing to know a single line of code. This option is a great platform for you if SEO is important.
  • HOW MANY REVISIONS DO I GET?
    (1) website revision is allowed. We keep your project on a tight timeline with weekly website 'approvals' every Friday until your website is complete. In the middle of those 4-6 weeks we have a revision viewing which is when you will be able to make the necessary adjustments. Our thoughts on that is that if we allow for Friday approvals, you will not need many revisions because you have been heavily involved in the design process.
  • WILL I BE ABLE TO ACCESS AND EDIT MY WEBSITE MYSELF AFTER IT’S BUILT?
YES! You will 100% own your website , so you will be able to edit and update it yourself as you like. While we don't recommend that you edit it yourself, one small change you might make could affect the entire website. Once your website keys are handed over monthly maintenance of your website is necessary. Content/design updates, security, backlinks, scans, plug-ins, SEO and more. We recommend asking us about our 'post launch' tech support. We offer a non-contractual service that is month-to-month. You are free to cancel at anytime.
  • WHAT IS A WEBSITE REVISION?
What is a revision or edit? In short, this is a change to your website design. The process of reviewing the designs and giving feedback is the revision phase. If you have changes, you will send these changes back to the web design team so that they can implement the desired changes. Revisions are the most important part of the website design process.
